Yes, you read that right.
$7 Million from a single book.
And here's what blew my mind - when we did the back-of-napkin math, that worked out to roughly $70-$100+ per book sold when you factor in the full business impact (and on his free + shipping funnel last month, it was closer to $900 per book).

Why a Book is the Highest-Leverage Asset You Can Create
One of the first things Chandler said in our interview that stopped me in my tracks was this:
"You can't spell the word authority without the word author."
Simple, but powerful.
The moment you become an author on the topic that you do, you instantly become an authority in the minds of your prospects & clients.
But here's the part most people miss - a book is not just a credibility play. When done right, it becomes the single highest-leverage asset in your entire business. You do the hard work ONCE to create the asset, and then it bears fruit everywhere - your sales process, your onboarding, your speaking opportunities, your lead generation, your referral engine, all of it.
This is what Chandler calls Leveraged Impact - and it's why I believe every expert, coach, consultant & course creator should be thinking seriously about putting a book out there.
The 4 Ps Framework: How to Write a Better Book Faster
Before you ever write a single word, Chandler recommends getting crystal clear on the 4 Ps:
Person - Who exactly are you writing this book to? (Pro tip: Pick ONE real person you know & write the entire book as if it were a letter to them. This solves so many writing problems.)
Pain - What is the core pain that person already knows they have?
Promise - What promise can you make in this book to solve that pain?
Price - What is the price point you'll position this at?
The closer your 4 Ps align with your business, the more fuel the book will be for your business.
This is where so many authors go wrong. They write a book that's loosely connected to what they do, and then wonder why it doesn't generate clients. The fix? Make sure your book is on the thing that you do in your business.

The Launch Triangle: The 3 Non-Negotiables of a Successful Launch
Chandler broke down what he calls the Launch Triangle - the 3 core components every successful book launch needs:
1. The Launch Team - This is the group of people who buy, read & review the book early to give it momentum. For my launch of Video Authority, we built up over 800+ people on the launch team, and it made all the difference.
2. Reviews - The more reviews you can get, especially in those first 30 days, the better. Reviews are social proof that the book is worth reading - and they directly impact Amazon rankings.
3. Promotions - This is the "accordion" of the launch. Depending on how much time, money & energy you want to invest, this can be massive (tons of podcast appearances, paid ads, speaking events, etc.) or laser-focused.
If you only do ONE thing, build that launch team. It's the single biggest needle mover.
The Question That Will Change How You Think About Your Book Launch
Here's the question Chandler asked me that I think every author needs to sit with:
"Over the first year of your launch, would you rather sell 5,000 copies of your book, OR sign up 100 clients in your business?"
Most people would say 100 clients in a heartbeat.
But then they get distracted chasing book sales, bestseller lists & vanity metrics - and they completely forget the actual goal.
The book is the means - the business is the end.
So the better question becomes: "What would have to be true for this book to bring in 100 clients for my business?" - and then reverse engineer everything from there.
That's a complete reframe. And once you start thinking that way, every decision about your launch, your funnel & your ongoing marketing changes.
The One-Year Launch: The Toyota Camry vs. The Lamborghini
This was one of my favorite frameworks Chandler shared - and it's something I'm actively applying right now with my own book.
Most book launches are like a Lamborghini. Fast, sexy, gone in a flash, burns through fuel - and then it's over. The author moves on, and the book stops working.
But Chandler argues your book should be a Toyota Camry. Reliable. Consistent. Just keeps going & going & going - quietly bringing in clients month after month, year after year.
Instead of treating your launch as a one-week sprint, think of it as a One-Year Launch. Integrate the book into everything you do - your funnels, your podcast appearances, your sales calls, your referral process - and watch it become the little engine that just keeps generating clients.
How a Book Generates Leads, Sales & Referrals
Here's how Chandler actively uses his book to drive that $7 Million in annual revenue. He breaks it into 3 buckets:
Leads:
Free + shipping funnel (reader covers shipping, you get the lead) - this alone generated 4,200 leads last month
Audio book given away free everywhere - on the website, on Spotify Premium, even via Audible's bounty program (where Audible actually PAYS you $75-$150 per free trial signup)
Book given as a bonus on every webinar registration, every opt-in, every podcast appearance
Sales:
Book offered as a bonus on the call booking thank-you page ("Listen to this before our call") - which dramatically increases close rates
Webinar attendees offered a free copy if they stay to the end (boosts retention, opt-ins & call bookings)
Used at speaking events to drive booth traffic, capture leads & book on-site appointments
Referrals:
Existing clients given two copies with the instruction "Give the spare to a friend who needs my help"
A simple referral page on the website where clients can send a copy to anyone in their network
The genius here is that the book becomes a value-first lead magnet that builds reciprocity, trust & authority all at the same time. People aren't just getting a free PDF - they're getting an actual book that took you years of expertise to create.
Strategies vs. Tactics: The Secret to a Timeless Book
One of the biggest challenges I faced when writing Video Authority was finding the balance between being valuable and being timeless.
If you go too tactical (click here, then click here, then click here on Google Ads), the book will be outdated by the time it prints.
But if you go too high-level, readers won't get enough actionable value.
Chandler's golden rule? "Teach strategies, not tactics."
Your book should be your 30,000-foot view - the timeless principles & frameworks. Then your courses, coaching & services are where you go deep on the in-the-trenches tactical stuff that's always changing.
This is exactly why the frameworks I share (the H.E.C. Formula, OmniPresent Retargeting, Alpha-AI Targeting, etc.) are designed to be timeless. The buttons in Google Ads will change. The principles behind why those frameworks work? Those don't change.
Already Have a Book? You Haven't Blown It - Relaunch It!
Chandler shared one final golden nugget that I want to pass along:
If you already have a book that's not really moving the needle in your business - one that maybe has a handful of reviews & has been gathering dust - you have not blown it.
You can relaunch that book.
There's no rule that says you can't. And if it's on the topic that you do in your business, you're sitting on a gold mine. Apply the One-Year Launch principles, integrate it back into your business, and watch the cash register start ringing again.
