Alright, let's Dive In...

The Omnipresent Retargeting Machine: Your Secret Weapon

Picture the Omnipresent Retargeting machine like a gigantic microwave, and all of your leads are popcorn kernels inside of it. As you warm those leads up from every angle, you get them to pop and become clients!

You probably know the value of your email list, social media profiles, and phone call lists. But one thing that is often overlooked is the value of your retargeting lists.

Why is that? Because it's an invisible list buried at the back of your ad account that contains all of the people who have opted into your funnels, watched your webinars and VSL, and viewed your site.

In other words, these people are already interacting with you, but they haven't taken that next step yet.

Whether you realize it or not, you have a massive opportunity to get in front of them with ads, even though they're already in your funnel! That makes your retargeting list one of the most valuable assets in your business!

The Retargeting Flywheel That Drives Consistent Results

Let me show you the "Retargeting Flywheel" I've used to help scale AdOutreach to become the 60th fastest-growing company in America.

The flywheel works like this:

  1. Consistent Retargeting - You create a system that consistently shows your ads to people who have interacted with your brand but haven't converted yet.

  2. Platform-Specific Ads - You create unique ad formats optimized for each platform where your audience spends time.

  3. Value-Driven Content - You don't just say "Hey, buy my stuff!" Instead, you provide genuine value in your retargeting ads.

  4. Build Authority & Trust - As people see you everywhere providing value, you become the trusted authority in your space.

  5. Increased Sales - Your consistent, omnipresent value turns into more sales and conversions.

  6. Reinvest - You take a portion of those increased sales and reinvest into more retargeting, spinning the flywheel faster and faster!

The beauty of this system is that it's self-reinforcing. Each element feeds into the next, creating an ever-accelerating cycle of growth!

4 Types of Retargeting Ads You Need to Create

Not all retargeting ads are created equal. Here are the four main types you should be implementing across all platforms:

1. Classic Retargeting Ads

These remind leads of their initial interest. They follow a simple formula:

  • Rehook: Capture their attention again

  • Remind: Remind them how they heard about you

  • Entice: Share the value they'll get by taking action

  • Call to Action: Tell them exactly what to do next

For example: "If you're seeing this ad, it's because at one point you showed interest in learning about omnipresent retargeting. Omnipresent retargeting allows you to appear everywhere in front of your ideal clients. If you want to learn how this works, click the link on the screen to book a complimentary call where we'll map out a game plan for your business."

2. Testimonial Ads

Show your prospect that others just like them have already succeeded with your solution. One particularly effective format is what I call a "testimonial supercut."

This is essentially a mashup of many different client testimonials edited together into one cohesive story. Instead of showing one long testimonial, you take the best 5-10 second clips from dozens of clients and stitch them together.

This allows you to showcase different people of different backgrounds, industries, and results all in one powerful video.

3. Content & Value Ads

These provide additional educational content to your audience. They shouldn't just be pitching—they should actually teach something valuable.

For example, we might retarget someone who watched our YouTube Ads training with a short video explaining a key concept about audience targeting or creative development.

4. Cross-Promotional Ads

These cross-promote different lead magnets to your ideal clients. For instance, if someone signed up for our free training, we might retarget them with an ad for our 19-page YouTube Ad Strategy PDF.

Why would we retarget people who have already opted in for one thing with something else? Because it's another touchpoint, another way to provide value, and another path that could lead them to booking a call.

The Platforms You Need to Be On (And How to Use Each One)

YouTube Retargeting

This is my favorite platform (no surprise there!) and offers several powerful formats:

In-Stream Ads

These are the standard ads that appear before or during other YouTube videos. They're skippable after 5 seconds, which makes them perfect for your rehook-remind-entice-CTA format.

In-Feed Ads

These appear in search results, suggested videos, or as people are browsing. They can be longer-form content—even up to 30-60 minutes! This is perfect for repurposing podcast interviews, longer training videos, and in-depth content.

YouTube Short Ads

With more people consuming short-form content, don't miss out on this growing inventory. These ads appear as people scroll through YouTube Shorts.

Fun fact: You can even retarget people who have subscribed to your channel, liked your videos, or watched your content—even if they've never opted into your email list!

Google Retargeting

Exact Match Search Ads

Run ads that appear when people search for your company name or related terms. This ensures you own your branded keywords (and prevents competitors from stealing your traffic at the last minute).

RLSA (Remarketing List for Search Ads)

This is a little-known gem. Instead of bidding on broad keywords for everyone, you can bid on those terms ONLY for people already on your retargeting list.

For example, I don't want to run ads to anyone who searches "YouTube ads" (too broad and expensive). But I DO want to show up for people who are already on my email list when they search that term. This makes it seem like you're everywhere!

Google Display Network Ads

Create banner ads in various formats to appear across Google's vast display network. These keep your brand top of mind as people browse other websites.

Gmail Ads

Yes, you can have ads appear right inside Gmail! These show up at the top of people's inboxes and expand into full ads when clicked.

Facebook & Instagram Retargeting

Facebook's platform allows for creative, engaging retargeting ads. I often have fun with these since YouTube is my primary platform:

  • "Bet you didn't expect to see me here!" (acknowledging the platform switch)

  • "Stop horsing around..." (with a fun image of me with a horse and buggy)

  • "I can't believe you made me wait this long—I've grown old!" (with me aged using a filter)

These lighthearted approaches often convert well because they break through the noise and acknowledge the retargeting in a fun way.

LinkedIn Retargeting

For B2B businesses, LinkedIn offers powerful retargeting options:

LinkedIn Feed Ads

These appear in the news feed but should be written like LinkedIn posts—more professional and business-focused than your Facebook or YouTube content.

LinkedIn Text Ads

These are low-cost, high-impression ads that appear in the right sidebar.

LinkedIn Spotlight Ads

One of my favorites! These actually place YOUR face next to the prospect's profile picture automatically—a powerful pattern interrupt.

LinkedIn Message Ads

These appear as messages in the LinkedIn inbox and can be personalized with the recipient's name. One of our clients landed multiple high-ticket clients within months just using this format!

Other Platforms Not to Overlook

  • Pinterest Retargeting

  • X (Twitter) Retargeting

  • Snapchat Retargeting

  • AdRoll (appears on thousands of sites)

Remember, you don't need massive budgets on each platform. Small, consistent spends across multiple channels create the omnipresent effect that leads to conversions.

Why Most People Get This Wrong

Most businesses make the mistake of spending all their ad budget acquiring new leads, then spend nothing retargeting them!

Think about it: You've already paid the high cost to acquire these leads. Why not spend a fraction of that amount to warm them up and convert them?

You've already done the hard part—now you just need to stay top of mind until they're ready to take action.

It's like filling a leaky bucket with water but never patching the holes. Your omnipresent retargeting strategy is the patch that keeps leads from leaking out of your funnel!

Your Next Steps: Implementing Omnipresent Retargeting

Here's how to get started with your own Omnipresent Retargeting Machine:

  1. Audit Your Current Retargeting - What platforms are you currently using? Where are the gaps?

  2. Create Platform-Specific Creative - Don't just use the same ads everywhere. Tailor your approach to each platform.

  3. Start Small, Then Expand - Begin with 2-3 platforms, then add more as you optimize your results.

  4. Focus on Value First - Make sure your retargeting ads provide genuine value, not just sales pitches.

  5. Measure & Optimize - Track which platforms and ad types drive the best results, then double down.

Remember, the goal is to warm up your leads from every direction until they "pop" and become clients! When prospects start telling you "I see you everywhere," you'll know your Omnipresent Retargeting Machine is working.
